Labarre grew up deeply involved in sports. In high school, he stood out as a multi-sport athlete. He was named a High School All-American in soccer and earned All-State honors in both basketball and baseball. Those years taught him discipline and adaptability.
“When you play several sports, you learn how different teams operate,” he says. “You learn how to adjust to different roles and different expectations.”
He later attended Dartmouth College, where he studied sociology and played on the men’s soccer team. Eventually, he became team captain. Leadership during those years helped shape his perspective. “Being captain means you’re responsible for more than your own performance,” Labarre says. “You’re responsible for the culture of the group.”
He was also invited to participate in regional and national team pools, which exposed him to high-level training environments. Those experiences would later influence how he approached youth coaching. His career spans healthtech, digital media, and venture investing. But the thread running through it all is a focus on turning emerging ideas into scalable platforms.
